Background:
- Merpoli is a blog about Mercari Group’s policy planning initiatives created by Mercari’s public policy team. We started this blog on August 1, 2018, as a way to increase recognition and appreciation of our efforts among government and political officials, scholars and other field experts, and industry peers, with the aim of conducting more effective policy planning for Mercari and Merpay. Back when we first started Merpoli, Mercari Group services included only Mercari and Merpay. Since then, the Group has founded many other companies, and this blog now covers policy planning initiatives for the entire Mercari Group.

Purpose:
- Through Merpoli, we aim to create more effective policy planning for Mercari Group by informing political and government officials, field experts, and related industry peers of Mercari Group’s initiatives and by spreading information about the policy planning sector both within Mercari and externally.
Target audience:
- Diet members, executive assistants, political officials, and local councilors
- Officials of relevant ministries and agencies, municipal employees
- Field experts such as scholars who attend governmental advisory councils
- Stakeholders in the policy planning industry and its surrounding fields (legal, academic, tech, etc.)
Concept:
- Merpoli was created as a way for us to post about Mercari Group's policy planning activities, explanations of policy, and policy proposals, while also covering current topics and issues.
Types of posts:
- Reports of Mercari Group's policy planning activities
- Explanations of related policies and policy proposals
- Information about collaboration with relevant external organizations such as municipalities
- Interviews with members of parliament, municipal leaders, field experts, etc.

- About once per week
